VISEO USA | Consultant | Aug 2011 - Dec 2024

Clients below were engagements delivered as a VISEO USA consultant.

Christian Dior Couture | Tactical One Stock: US e-commerce logistics merge | Apr 2023 - Dec 2024

Role: E-commerce Project Manager | New York, USA

Context: Dior decided to merge its US e-commerce logistics: all e-commerce activity of one warehouse would move into the existing retail warehouse managed by a third-party logistics provider. The move touched every system around online sales, from the e-commerce platform and integration layer to the store and warehouse systems. Brought in to help Dior implement the merge and manage all of its IT implications on the e-commerce platform, working with teams in France and the US and with the logistics provider.

  • Wrote the business requirements for the e-commerce interfaces affected by the move and ran the workshops to validate them.
  • Reviewed and validated the design of the logistics interfaces between the e-commerce platform and the warehouse.
  • Defined the service levels for the new e-commerce activity in the retail warehouse.
  • Prepared steering committees, the mitigation plan and the cutover, then ran warehouse tests and go-live hypercare.
  • Put a monitoring tool in place for e-commerce sales and supported the warehouse business operation after go-live.

Systems and technologies: Salesforce Commerce Cloud, MuleSoft, Talend, Cegid, Manhattan WMS, Project management, Testing, Cutover & hypercare

ID Logistics / Kane Logistics | S/4HANA core-model rollout to Kane Logistics | Jul 2022 - Apr 2023

Role: SAP S/4HANA SD Functional Analyst | Pennsylvania, USA

Context: The French logistics group ID Logistics acquired Kane Logistics, a US company that owns warehouses and trucks and sells logistics services. The group decided to roll its SAP S/4HANA core model out to the new subsidiary. The main difficulty was understanding how Kane billed its services and fitting that billing structure into the S/4HANA processes and the group core model, with the core team based in France.

  • Gathered Kane's requirements on the logistics modules in workshops and reported them back to the core team in France.
  • Configured the sales process and the purchasing release (validation) strategy in S/4HANA.
  • Designed the purchasing and invoicing forms for the subsidiary.
  • Wrote functional and technical design documentation and demonstrated the sales and purchasing processes in Fiori tiles.

Systems and technologies: SAP S/4HANA, SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP FI, SAP Fiori

Tiffany & Co. | Cegid store systems for Tiffany US | Nov 2021 - Jul 2022

Role: Retail Logistics Analyst | Parsippany, New Jersey, USA

Context: After LVMH acquired Tiffany, the group wanted Cegid in all US Tiffany stores, replacing the existing point-of-sale system; the project was part of the landmark New York store opening. The scope covered the Cegid core for all store stock and retail operations, Cegid Mobile POS, and an inventory-tracking application for sales associates. Focus: the master data and stock-transfer side of that scope.

  • Wrote the functional design for master data and stock transfers in Cegid.
  • Designed and implemented the stock-transfer interfaces.
  • Imported the master data into Cegid.
  • Produced the technical design and ran the unit tests.

Systems and technologies: Cegid, Point of sale, Data migration, Testing

Lacoste | Signifyd fraud prevention for Mexico and Canada | Sep 2020 - Nov 2021

Role: E-commerce (Digital) Project Manager | New York, USA

Context: Online sales were a very large and growing share of Lacoste's business, but fraud exposure in some countries called for stronger controls. Every fraudulent order carried handling costs such as bank disputes and chargebacks. Lacoste had already implemented Signifyd in the US and Brazil; Signifyd scores each order before payment authorization and takes on the liability for the orders it approves. As digital project manager for North and Central America (NORCAM), responsible for the Mexico implementation and then Canada.

  • Designed the API calls to Signifyd before the Cybersource payment authorization and configured the score-based accept and decline rules.
  • Ran the project end to end across Mexico, France and the US: planning, estimates, specifications, test books, cutover plan and weekly flash reports.
  • Built the historical-data load (burn-in) from the Salesforce database so that Signifyd's scoring had order history from day one.
  • Analysed the high initial decline rates after go-live and worked with Signifyd to adjust the settings, raising the acceptance rate.
  • Documented every configuration point and development, which allowed Canada to be delivered in half the time of Mexico.

Systems and technologies: Signifyd, Cybersource, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Payment integration, APIs, SQL, Testing, Cutover & hypercare, Project management

Christian Dior Couture | ShopInDior: Cegid Y2 POS for US boutiques | Jun 2020 - Aug 2020

Role: Functional Retail Consultant | New York, USA

Context: Dior was rolling out a point-of-sale solution built on Cegid Y2 for its US boutiques. US-specific extensions had to be designed and tested, store teams trained on the new Cegid retail solution, and boutiques supported through go-live.

  • Produced the technical design and implementation of Cegid Y2 enhancements, including forms, for the US boutiques.
  • Tested the extensions developed for the United States across front-office and back-office POS processes.
  • Trained store users on the Cegid retail solution and supported change management.
  • Covered go-live hypercare, hotline and store support.

Systems and technologies: Cegid, Point of sale, Testing, User training, Cutover & hypercare

Lacoste | Footwear 3PL migration on Orliweb | Feb 2020 - May 2020

Role: Orliweb Project Manager, Techno-functional | New York, USA

Context: Lacoste moved the logistics of its footwear division to a new third-party (3PL) warehouse provider dedicated to footwear. The provider built its interfaces to fit Lacoste's standard Cegid Orliweb solution, so the inbound and outbound flows, the file exchanges and the EDI flows with wholesale customers all had to be specified, tested and cut over, with remote teams in France and California.

  • Specified and tested the inbound (receiving) and outbound (pick tickets, shipping) flows between Orliweb and the new warehouse.
  • Worked on the flat-file transfer interfaces through FileZilla and a staging database.
  • Wrote Oracle SQL queries for reporting and bug analysis during testing and go-live.
  • Coordinated the France and California teams through go-live cutover and WMS go-live support.

Systems and technologies: Cegid Orliweb, 3PL, Oracle SQL, Flat-file interfaces, EDI, Testing, Cutover & hypercare

Lacoste | Mobile POS pilot: store hardware and network | 2020 - 2021

Role: Digital Project Manager (peripherals and networks) | New York, USA

Context: Lacoste's stores ran on Cegid POS. Lacoste had been one of Cegid's first clients, but the application's performance, features and user experience were ageing, especially for mobility. After a global upgrade of its Manhattan Associates order management system, Lacoste IT decided to trial the mobile POS included in the new version: an iPhone app for sales, multichannel orders, stock, transfers and replenishment, so that each sales associate could transact anywhere in the store. The pilot ran in two US stores with Cegid kept in parallel; if it succeeded, the solution would be rolled out across more than 60 US stores and then worldwide, replacing Cegid, with a global horizon to 2025. Manhattan's teams built the solution itself; responsible for the Lacoste side, starting with peripherals and networks.

  • Owned the peripherals and network workstream of the mobile POS pilot for the US stores.
  • Built the hardware cost plan and submitted it for approval before purchasing.
  • Sized the store internet links with the vendor and proposed a primary connection plus a backup line from a different provider.
  • Contributed to a new dedicated mobile POS network, configured fixed addressing for every device, and designed a store-network access check with the architecture teams in France.

Systems and technologies: Point of sale, Manhattan Omni (POS / OMS), Store networking, Cegid, Middleware, Payment integration, Project management

Ingenico | North America carve-out in SAP | Sep 2019 - Jan 2020

Role: SAP Logistics Functional Consultant (SD/MM/WM) | Atlanta (Alpharetta), Georgia, USA

Context: Ingenico was separating its retail activities from its bank and acquirer activities worldwide. For Canada, the USA and Mexico, new retail companies were created in SAP. All existing logistics flows and master data had to be replicated in the new entities, and a new intercompany flow was needed between the old and new companies for internal re-invoicing, integrated with finance and profitability analysis.

  • Assessed the existing system and produced the high-level and SD/MM solution design for the new retail entities.
  • Designed and implemented the company-to-company flow for internal re-invoicing between old and new entities.
  • Configured sales order, delivery, billing and intercompany billing, pricing procedures and output types.
  • Integrated the flows with FI/CO and CO-PA, and supported data migration, user training and support.

Systems and technologies: SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP WM, SAP FI, SAP CO, Data migration, User training

Longchamp USA | US rollout and intercompany SO-to-PO flow | Feb 2019 - Aug 2019

Role: SAP Logistics Techno-functional Consultant (SD/MM/WM) | Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA

Context: Longchamp, the French luxury leather-goods house, runs SAP in France for logistics, sales and stock transfers between warehouses and stores, with all IT architecture decisions made in Paris. The US subsidiary, with 17 stores, one warehouse in New Jersey and much of its distribution through department stores and wholesale accounts, was getting SAP through a rollout of the French logistics solution. Joined a team of four consultants and a project manager shortly before the planned June 2019 go-live, because developments were late, in particular the intercompany sales flows between the French and US entities. France kept strategic control of US stock: it needed exact visibility and created the orders and transfers that replenish the US.

  • Designed and built a custom intercompany flow: SD user exits on sales-order save map the sales order into a purchase order created through standard purchasing BAPIs.
  • Kept the French solution untouched: the code runs only for sales to the US, so existing flows needed no regression testing in France.
  • Enabled Longchamp's nightly planning run to replenish the US warehouse automatically from France, with users only validating the generated documents.
  • Took on the development work for the SD, MM and WM consultants, helping the project finish on time.
  • Supported the warehouse on site: goods receipt with inbound deliveries, wave-pick transfer orders, packing, allocation run and IDoc monitoring.

Systems and technologies: SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP WM, ABAP, BAPI, User exits, IDoc

Adisseo / Nutriad | SAP rollout to Nutriad US plants | Jan 2019 - May 2019

Role: SAP Logistics Functional Consultant and Trainer | Hampshire, Illinois, USA

Context: Adisseo, a world leader in animal nutrition additives, had acquired Nutriad and was rolling its group SAP solution out to Nutriad's US plants and warehouses. The logistics processes (sales, purchasing, inventory and production) had to be designed for the new sites, Nutriad's master data converted and loaded, and users trained to work in SAP.

  • Led the SAP logistics design workshops and the functional analysis and design for the new sites.
  • Converted and uploaded Nutriad's master data.
  • Designed and tested stock transfer orders, intercompany replenishment, stock adjustments, sales orders, production planning, production orders and confirmations.
  • Ran change management, delivered user training and wrote the user guides.

Systems and technologies: SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP WM, SAP PP, Data migration, Testing, User training

Nemera, Ingenico, U-shin | SAP logistics application maintenance | Mar 2018 - Dec 2018

Role: SAP Logistics Functional Consultant (SD/MM/WM/PP) | Jersey City, New Jersey, USA

Context: VISEO USA provided application maintenance for several global clients with subsidiaries in North and South America, working with VISEO's maintenance center in France. The work was to analyse and resolve production issues on SAP ECC and to configure and test changes to sales, purchasing, billing and inventory flows. For the Brazilian subsidiaries this included the Nota Fiscal and Brazilian tax procedures.

  • Analysed and resolved production issues on SAP ECC logistics for several clients.
  • Configured sales and purchasing flows, pricing determination, partner determination and PR/PO release strategies.
  • Implemented and configured the Brazilian tax flows (Nota Fiscal) and tax procedures (J1BTAX).
  • Handled IDoc interface processing, invoice form printing, warranty processes and MM consignment.

Systems and technologies: SAP ECC, SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP WM, SAP PP, SAP Brazil localization, IDoc, Application support

Parbel of Florida (L'Oréal) | Travel-retail SAP data migration | Oct 2017 - Feb 2019

Role: SAP FICO Techno-Functional Consultant | Miami, Florida, USA | Team: Up to 8 people

Context: L'Oréal's Parbel of Florida travel-retail (airport) companies were merging their systems into a single one. Finance, controlling, materials and sales data had to move from the source system to the new SAP system on ECC 6. Techno-functional FICO consultant on the migration, from analysis and design of the migration programs through extraction, reconciliation and testing.

  • Analyzed and designed the data-migration programs for FI/CO, MM and SD data.
  • Built the extractions for FICO open items, G/L accounts and the material master.
  • Reconciled the migrated data and ran the functional analysis behind it.
  • Ran extraction tests and integration tests on the migrated data.

Systems and technologies: SAP FI, SAP CO, SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP ECC, Data migration, Testing

L'Oréal USA | SAP HANA sidecar for reporting and finance flows | 2016

Role: SAP HANA Technical Expert | Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, USA

Context: Most SAP systems at the time ran on Oracle. SAP was promoting HANA, its in-memory, columnar database, which is much faster on very large tables, and that made it attractive for L'Oréal USA's data volumes. L'Oréal chose not to replace Oracle. Instead it added HANA alongside it as a secondary, read-only copy fed by near-real-time replication: a sidecar. Master data stayed in Oracle, and nothing was updated or deleted in HANA. The goal was to speed up the costliest reports, transactions and calculations, especially finance flows and BI reporting programs, and to open up new BI possibilities.

  • Selected and sized the tables to replicate into HANA, where both licensing (priced on consumed space) and server sizing depended on a precise estimate.
  • Configured replication, deciding which tables needed real-time replication and which did not.
  • Rewrote custom ABAP programs to move sorting, grouping and aggregation into SQL run on HANA, redirecting their queries to the secondary database connection.
  • Applied SAP's HANA accelerators for standard programs after checking them against custom enhancements with version-comparison tools.

Systems and technologies: SAP HANA, SAP ECC, ABAP, SQL, Oracle SQL, Performance tuning

L'Oréal USA | In-SAP retail store and cash-register program | Aug 2011 - May 2017

Role: SAP SD/FI Technical Lead · Team Lead SD, FI and BW DataSources | Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, USA | Team: Up to 10 developers

Context: L'Oréal USA acquired SalonCentric, a distributor of professional hair products with several warehouses and about 600 stores across the United States. To keep data in one place, the store and cash-register application was run directly inside L'Oréal's existing SAP system rather than in a separate point-of-sale package. Brought in to speed up developments that the existing team could not deliver on time: the store application, store replenishment from the warehouses and the successive regional go-lives. Continued through the program's later phases, which followed further L'Oréal acquisitions, and for new SAP tools.

  • Led the SAP sales-flow, finance and BW DataSource development teams, on site and offshore, for a program delivered in successive phases over about six years.
  • Designed and built enhancements to the in-SAP cash-register and call-center applications: customer search, scanning, summary and payment screens.
  • Designed scan-time logic that picks the product version that actually has stock when a store scans a UPC/EAN barcode, reducing negative stock.
  • Simplified the store user interface by removing unnecessary buttons and screens from the delivered retail add-on.
  • Owned estimates, planning, budget, subcontractor recruiting, timesheets and steering-committee support for the technical teams.

Systems and technologies: SAP SD, SAP FI, SAP BW, ABAP, Point of sale, Smart Forms, Offshore coordination, Project management

Total | Oil trading logistics and pipeline sales on SAP TSW | Nov 2009 - Oct 2010

Role: SAP SD/TSW Techno-Functional Consultant · Offshore Development Team Lead | Châtillon, France | Team: 4-person bulk team

Context: Total was implementing SAP worldwide for the sale and transport of oil. Accenture ran the whole project, with about 50 mostly functional consultants in Châtillon and the ABAP development teams offshore in India. Bulk purchases, sales and transport planning ran in SAP IS-Oil TSW (Traders' and Schedulers' Workbench), which sits on top of SD and MM. Member of the four-person 'bulk' team, which handled nominations: the TSW documents that plan bulk transport by tanker, train and other bulk means. This assignment marked the move from developer to techno-functional consultant and the start of a specialization in logistics.

  • Delivered a complete new pipeline-sales flow in SD: new sales order, delivery and billing types, a dedicated pricing procedure, contract schedule lines and copy-control rules.
  • Contained a post-go-live accounting incident caused by a shared substitution schema: stopped operations, restored the production rules by cross-system comparison and re-transported the change on its own.
  • Acted as functional analyst for the offshore ABAP team: estimates, combined functional and technical specifications, test books and validation before UAT.
  • Ran testing from unit through non-regression for monthly production releases, using a pre-production system refreshed daily from production to analyze defects.

Systems and technologies: SAP TSW, SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP FI, IDoc, Offshore coordination, Testing, Application support

Allianz France | Finance and BW competence center | Jun 2008 - Oct 2009

Role: SAP FI/CO Technical Expert · ABAP Developer | La Défense, Paris, France | Team: 5 developers and 1 project manager

Context: Allianz France (formerly AGF) had grown through many acquisitions across insurance, assistance, credit insurance and banking. Its SAP competence center delivered development, configuration and expertise to every business line, for all SAP systems in production and in development. On the financial side, several SAP systems covered real-estate leases, IT and office-equipment spend, cost accounting and the general ledger, and multi-GAAP consolidation for the German parent. An exchange layer (SAP XI) moved their data into SAP BW for decision reporting. The assignment added capacity to a team of five developers and a project manager for fixes and enhancements on FI, CO and BW.

  • Proactively redesigned the redundant procedural loads of accounting documents into BW as object-oriented ABAP: one class per subsidiary, shared logic inherited from a parent class, and polymorphic transformation rules.
  • Proved the redesign safe by running old and new code in parallel and building a comparison program that checked their output automatically.
  • Monitored the nightly finance loads (buffer tables → XI → BW cubes) and sent a status report every morning before the accountants started work.
  • Traced a multi-flow load failure during pre-close to a changed FTP permission and reworked the status report so it no longer relied on color.

Systems and technologies: SAP FI, SAP CO, SAP BW, ABAP, SAP XI/PI, Flat-file interfaces, Testing, Application support

Gaz de France | Energy-market opening on SAP IS-U and CRM | Dec 2006 - Jun 2008

Role: SAP CRM/IS-U Technical Consultant · ABAP Developer | Saint-Ouen, France | Team: 20 developers (part offshore)

Context: From July 2007, the French residential energy market opened to competition: Gaz de France could sell electricity and EDF could sell gas. GDF, with 11 million customers in 2007, needed an information system for its commercial offers, contracts and billing, including new dual-fuel (gas plus electricity) offers. The program implemented SAP CRM for customer relationship management, SAP IS-U for billing and sales administration, and BW for steering indicators. More than 200 consultants worked on it, one of Accenture's largest projects at the time. Joined in December 2006 as an ABAP programmer in a team of 20 developers, part of them offshore in Mauritius, for the release that added everything needed to sell electricity.

  • Built inbound interfaces that load non-SAP XML and flat files into SAP IDocs, so standard IDoc monitoring, error handling and reprocessing applied. The pattern was used for all inbound interfaces on the project.
  • Developed the CRM interface that applies contract changes and meter readings from an upstream system, using standard IDoc function modules plus user exits for custom fields.
  • Worked on the dual-fuel commercial offers in CRM, electricity meter-reading calculations and invoice printing in IS-U.
  • Resolved performance defects on tables of tens to hundreds of millions of rows through runtime and SQL traces, algorithm fixes and query and index changes.

Systems and technologies: XML, SAP IS-U, SAP CRM, ABAP, IDoc, Flat-file interfaces, Performance tuning, Oracle SQL, Testing
